Winds are changing. The backlash might be fierce but the pull to de-illegalize cannabis is fiercer.

As of the last elections, 2016, 20 states recognize cannabis as beneficial and medicinal. Eight states have even stood up against the “Schedule 1” classification given to cannabis on a federal level in legalizing recreational cannabis.

The labeling of cannabis as a Schedule 1 drug entails that on a national level, weed has no medicinal value and is just a high-risk for abuse substance — this is federally false information. Since its illegalization and criminalization, America and Americans have lost out.

You would think with a high production turnout, and high nutrition crop, capitalist America would rejoice for hemp. It’s more efficient than cutting down trees for paper or farming cotton.

And studies of its bud, the flowering part of the plant that has caused all this controversy, with its THC, breakdown that cannabis is not addictive. Furthermore, the substance has shown to be useful in helping people with addiction, to drugs like opioids, wane off into sobriety. Go hemp!
